CREDIT POLICY EFFECTIVE TERM 3, 2010

Beginning Term 3 we will no longer be offering make-up lessons. This is regrettable, but necessary, due to the large number of enrolments this term.

We do understand that not all illnesses warrant a trip to the doctors, however the swim school functions in the same way as any after-school sports club whereby any credit is only offered in cases of serious illness.

As such, a maximum of two credits per term will be offered in the event of serious illness and provided you have notified Reception prior to your child’s lesson that they will not be attending. If you would like to request credits, you will be asked to present valid medical documentation (ie doctor's certificate) at your time of re-enrolment. Credits will only be issued with doctors certificates and will not be offered in the event of holidays or clashes with other activities.

POOLSIDE RULES

  • All children must wait behind the barrier with their parent/guardian before their lesson.
  • Have your child dressed ready for their lesson before you arrive. If this isn’t possible please dress your child in the female/male changing rooms provided and NOT by the poolside.
  • No food to be consumed around the pool area.
  • Please place all litter in bin provided.

Swim Australia’s Helpful Hints for Parents

Try to arrive relaxed and positive, especially if the experience of swimming lessons is new. Your child will feel calm and secure and lessons will be more successful.

Have a dress rehearsal at home so your child is used to swimwear and goggles. It’s highly recommended that you have them already dressed in their swim gear to avoid any drama when getting them into the pool.

Arrive early so you and your child can become acquainted with the surroundings and will not be flustered or rushed.

Toilet your child prior to their lesson to avoid accidents and disruption during swimming lessons.

Goggles are a vital teaching aid at various stages of the learning process. They allow the child good vision and comfort underwater. It is great for children to have their own and arrive ready for class.

Please stay back from the pool edge, while swimming lessons are in progress. It’s great to encourage your child, but try to leave the teaching and discipline to the swimming teacher.
